With Victoria and Matt’s wedding just around the corner I felt it was time to finally get their beautiful Hamilton engagement up on the blog! Victoria and Matt had their engagement session at Dundurn Castle in Hamilton. I absolutely love this location as it has the perfect mix of neutral buildings, greenery and of course great light! Usually Dundurn Castle is quite busy in the warmer months which can be a challenge, but we lucked out and had the place almost completely to ourselves which allowed for a peaceful and private session. These two were amazing in front of the camera which made photographing them so easy. I cannot wait to work with them again this June at their Hamilton Golf and Country Club wedding!
Dylan and Robyn | Princess Point | Hamilton Engagement Photographer
Wow it feels weird to be writing a blog post again since it has been almost 7 months since I have done so. I have had the pleasure of working with many amazing couples for both their engagement sessions and weddings this past year and I am so excited to finally be sharing some of them with you! With some gloomy, cold days surrounding us I had to start things off with Dylan and Robyn’s beautiful and sunny summer engagement session to bring back some of that summer magic. I love shooting at Princess Point because when we are lucky enough to have a sunny, clear day the light floods in so perfectly and creates a wonderful backdrop to capture some sweet love-filled moments. Dylan and Robyn I cannot wait for your wedding day this July, you two were truly a joy to work with!
A Lavender Farm Anniversary Session | Hamilton Couple Photographer
The truth is, most couples may never step back in front of a professional photographer after their wedding day. You have your one beautiful wedding portrait hung up in your home and that’s the end of it. But what about all the amazing growth your relationship and family have experienced throughout your years of marriage, isn’t that worth documenting and celebrating? Today I want to share a little bit about anniversary sessions, a way for couples to reconnect and document love after the big day has come and gone and celebrate the lovely life they have created and the full hearts they still have. These sessions have recently become a favourite of mine as they are so joyful and truly illustrate the amazing gift marriage is. The wedding is only the beginning, don’t forget to tell the full story by making time to jump back in front of the camera, just the two of you, to watch your love grow through the years.
To show you just how beautiful anniversary sessions can be here is the lovely Michele and Warden celebrating two wonderful years together. Michele never truly connected with her wedding photos, and with more knowledge now of the style she loves, she took their anniversary as an opportunity to captures her and her husband in a way she felt better reflected them now. Their session was shot at Bonnieheath Estate Winery and Lavender Farm which was not only stunning but smelt so wonderful. Enjoy!
