The Details
Every detail of your wedding day helps to tell a story. When I first arrive on the wedding day, I love to grab all of the little details (flowers, jewellery, shoes, stationery, etc.) and take time to style and document the special things that make your day unique and beautiful. As a Burlington Wedding Photographer, I know you have put so much time and creativity into every piece of this day, and I want to make sure you remember it all.
The Wedding Day Experience
The Morning
After photographing the details, I will be present to capture all of the special moments of the morning. Whether it be champagne and laughs with the bridesmaids, a first look with a parent, lawn games with groomsmen, or a quiet moment by yourself to take it all in, I will be there to document it. My goal is to capture real moments and not to pose and create staged photographs during this part of the day. I want you to remember the actual events of the morning, not what I asked you to pretend to do. I may set you up in good light to ensure I get the best images with the aesthetic style you love, but after that, I will let you do your thing and capture authentic moments. Along with taking photos, I am also happy to help in any way I can. On many wedding days, I have been found buttoning up dresses, pinning in veils, and coaching groomsmen on how to tie a bowtie or pin in a boutonniere.
The Ceremony
During the ceremony, my goal as a Burlington Wedding Photographer is for you and your guests not to even know I am there. I never get too close to the front of the aisle (except for the bride’s entrance and walk down the aisle, of course), and try my best not to block anyone’s view. Capturing the best images is my number one priority, and I strive to do this without ruining anyone’s experience and enjoyment of the ceremony. Along with focusing on the two of you, I also capture the reactions of your guests, making sure you can look back and see who was present on your special day and see those moments you missed while your eyes were fixed on each other. Don’t be surprised if you see me laughing or tearing up during your ceremony, the love my couples exude always fills me with joy and emotion.
The Portraits
Wedding portraits are a little time scheduled to photograph you and your new husband/wife and your favourite people! I aim to make this a fun and relaxed experience where I guide you through simple poses and use conversation and games to help create a natural and enjoyable experience. I make sure to work efficiently to get you back to the party as soon as possible since I know that’s where you and your bridal party want to be!
The Reception
The Details: Just like your bridal details, I know you have worked so hard for many months to dream, design and plan the wedding of your dreams, and each detail of the reception space is special to your day. I set aside time at some point before the guests arrive in the space to document every detail.
The Celebration: You enjoy the celebration, and I will capture all the love, laughter and of course, the awesome dance moves! Portraits and detail shots are beautiful, but after ten years as a Burlington Wedding Photographer, reception photos are always some of my favourites as they are so full of life and special memories.
