My Favourite Playgrounds in Burlington, Ontario

Spring has arrived! There's nothing quite like a sunny day at the park, where laughter fills the air and the playground becomes the backdrop for unforgettable memories. From swinging high to sliding down with joyful squeals, and energetic games of tag, there is nothing like a trip to the park with your littles. Below, I have shared my favourite playgrounds in Burlington, Ontario.

  1. Cityview Park: 2500 Kerns Rd, Burlington, ON L7P 1P8

Located on the border of Burlington and Waterdown, this playground in Burlington is one of my favourites, and a favourite of my children as well. Cityview Park has two playground structures, an obstacle course/jungle gym and swings. It is great for a variety of ages with many climbing apparatuses and structures ranging in size and difficulty. The playground is surrounded by beautiful trees and is located close to many hiking trails in Kerncliff Park, which you can access in the south parking lot of Cityview Park. There are washrooms and soccer fields, and lots of parking. The park is in a very open area, so be sure to bring hats and sunscreen as there isn’t much shade. I hope you will try out Cityview Park in Burlington and that your family will enjoy it as much as we do! This is also one of my favourite locations for spring and summer family photos in Burlington, Ontario.

  1. Hidden Valley Park: 1137 Hidden Valley Rd, Burlington, ON L7P

Hidden Valley Park has not only one, but two separate playgrounds in one location! No wonder it is one of my favourite playgrounds in Burlington, Ontario. Hidden Valley Park truly has it all, two great playgrounds with structures fun for a wide range of ages, swings, a splash pad, picnic tables, lots of shade, paved trails, washrooms, and as a bonus the Burlington Model Train Club is located here and is open for public viewing one Saturday a month. The main playground is located at the address above. To access the second playground, cross Lemmonville Road, walk through the baseball field, and you should see the red and blue structure through the trees. You can find this playground on Google Maps as Hidden Valley Park #2. This second playground is more shaded, making it great for hot, sunny days. It has a paved loop of small trails perfect for little bikes or scooters and is completely fenced in. You could easily spend all day at Hidden Valley Park! From the second park, there is also access to trails that connect to the RBG. I haven’t explored these yet, but I hope to in the future.

  1. Lasalle Park: 50 North Shore Blvd E, Burlington, ON L7T 4A4

Lasalle Park is a playground I have enjoyed since I was a kid. The playground is great for a variety of ages, with many different features to climb on, swing on, spin on and explore. This playground is well shaded, especially in the afternoon when a large tree shades the play structure. Lasalle Park also has picnic tables, fields to run in, a wading pool, washrooms and trails that lead down to a marina. This park can get very crowded on weekends in the summer, so I would recommend coming on weekdays if you can, but even on a busy summer day, this is still one of my favourite playgrounds in Burlington, Ontario.
